Should we play cricket in Zimbabwe?

I think the answer is yes. No dictators actually were thrown because of a canceled sporting events. Most dictatorships significantly weaken if allow their subject to contact with free world. A stream of free people coming to cricket matches from around the world would do much more for a future free Zimbabwe people than an embarrassment of a canceled sporting event.

Also do not forget - Mugabe starves his own people by misdirecting the humanitarian food help. International sporting event mean some hard currency for the people (the would buy memorabilia, etc.) Hard currency mean that some food can be bought (or smuggled) by people independently from the regime - this may be the difference between life and death for someone.

What do you think?
